I can't login into the admin page either too, I installed on the standalone on
winxp and I get this error messge

"Error Occurred While Processing Request

Please Try The Following:

Check the CFML Reference Manual to verify that you are using the correct
syntax.

Search the Knowledge Base to find a solution to your problem.

Browser Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR
1.1.4322)
Remote Address 127.0.0.1 "

Using 127.0.0.1:8500, gives the same error msg too.

I also tried installed on Windows Server 2003, and on computer start up, the
coldfusion server service fails and if restarted, it stops agains. i have JRE
installed on both win xp and Server 2003.

Please what could be the problem or what am I missing out?

What version are you using? If it is MX6, does the stack trace error look like this?

jedline,

I tried using http://127.0.0.1:8500/CFIDE/Administrator/index.cfm but it did
not work.

I also tried to uninstall and re-install but now it will not let me
re-install, I get a message that CF5 is already installed. So it looks like CF
5 is all screwed up.

Next, I tried to purchase the upgrade to CF 8 but Adobe will not let me
upgrade from CF 5 so I have to purchase the full version CF 8 which for a small
company is a big set back.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it... lol...

Thanks for everyone help!

All the best!

If you follow the links, they mention the TechNote for this issue
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=98b88caa&sliceId=1

BUT .. the 6.1 updater is no longer available. So you can either apply the
alternate fix or install a newer version. If you have installed CF for
personal use only, I would recommed installing a newer version instead.

Buxs effectively sidetracks Cooperstown's thread. Theirs are two entirely
different issues.

Buxs most likely needs the Java Cryptographic Extension fix for MX 6.0, as
-==cfSearching==- points out.Cooperstown may need to move the system folder
/CFIDE to c:\Inetpub\wwwroot.

Duh! You are right. I missed the mention of CF5, and thought it was yet
another person with two logins ;-)

Hey there,

I've recently downloaded ColdFusion 8 and am running the stand alone developer
edition on an XP box.

Similar to Cooperstown I'm unable to access the administrator page. In both
Firefox and IE it's unable to pull up the page and it brings up the typical
error when the browser can't load a particular page. I used
http://localhost:8500/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm, and I've tried it with
127.0.0.1 and 127.0.0.1:8500.

Likewise, my browser will not preview the .cfm files when I try to pull them
up in there. It does the same as with the administrator. I've been able to get
both of these things to work previously, but they have seemingly stopped
working randomly.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!
